Lisa Barone, please do YOUR homework

I was a bit stunned to read such a bizarre twisted emotional reaction to Adobe's announcement about Flash SEO today from Lisa Barone, someone with a lot of SEO clout. Why she apparently assumes this SEO announcement will spawn the return of 100% Flash, in-your-face, blinking, "click here to skip intro" sites that existed for about 14 minutes ten years ago is laughable.

I encourage you all more versed in Flash SEO to comment directly on her blog.

Most likely the blog owner will not approve my post so I will post it here.

What them people should really be worried about is their job!.

Google and yahoo both can acknowledge that flash, flex and Air are leading a revolution in the web industry. Get on board or get the "F"lash out the way!

To be honest I wouldn't pay much attention to self appointed 'experts' like Lisa Barone who have probably never designed anything in their life, yet get themselves a blog and think they know it all. SEO is the sleazy loud-mouthed bottom of the barrel for internet employees nowadays, for those without the mental skill to program, or raw talent to design.

Have a look at the awful site of the company she works for, an absolute triumph in ugliness and unattractiveness. A list of quality clients is conspicuous by its absence. Infer from that what you will..

When people listening to her say stuff like "Pretty pictures are just that - pretty. But they don't make me want to buy your.." then you know they understand nothing about marketing. I'd love to see her explain that in the TV/Fashion/Motor etc industries. Aesthetics do sell, and as long as that is the case, you'll find many of the worlds premium brands will continue to use all-flash sites, and ignore nobodies like Lisa Barone

@ Josh and Anonymous, You are both right. I paid a lot of attention, perhaps too much, because I found out about her article from the SEO team at the site I work for. And most top 1000 sites are already convinced AJAX is the future. So she did a good job of solidifying that misguided belief. I guess she's referring to 100% micro-sites for movies, automobiles and games because they are the only sites usually 100% Flash who would even address SEO. And, they usually don't give a damn about SEO because they're short lived promotions. I will take self-appointed expert views with a grain of salt and hope others do to. It just irks me because her blog is widely read by corporate America's SEO teams and she took a jab at Flash out of fear that the web might soon look like.. oh, I don't know, maybe a nice 15-minute-to-download Myspace page.

Lisa provides drama and overreaction which are in themselves useful. She provokes posts like this, which are also useful. Together they make people think, although it's not always pretty.
